Then why is the HHS Dept. using the funds to advertise an anti-obesity campaign? What jobs is this creating? Is the appropriate use of funds as voted by Congress?
We might agree, however, at least on the idea that fighting obesity would be fiscally responsible?
Yes but this was giant waste of money, not that this is great alternative but for example how many bikes could we buy for kids so they might exercise more with 650 million and how many jobs would we create? The answer to both is a lot and the bikes would be much more effective at actually fighting the problem and have long lasting benefits.
FYI that's 6.5 million bikes if they were $100 a piece...

Yes, silly you. But then, you've plenty of company when it comes to having a grasp of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Invest in what? Pork projects and agendas that will have very little to no benefit in the economy? The stimulus act was a very expensive failure.
Sure, educating consumers about diet and health is a good idea. In NYC and many other places, nutrition/calorie information is available at restaurants. There's also a wealth of information available online and in books/magazines. There's only so much the government can do (without creating even more of a nanny state). Ultimately it is up to the consumers.

How much does obesity, and the way it has been growing, costs America?

Wouldn't be a great way of spending $650M, but much better than what they did spend it on. Bike manufacturers would also have a very good year.
So, you're okay with Big Brother taking your money and telling you what you shouldn't eat or drink. Why spend money on that?
Of course he is. He's a liberal, and he supports everything this administration is doing. He is a mouthpiece for the administration.
The administration has plants who post to this and other forums. They are also on places like FaceBook. There purpose is to speak for the administration. They are, however, pretty easy to spot.

You're missing the point, it was waste of money.
