Outstanding post---very nicely done.

Letting all of socialist Europe pay for their own defense would also save us trillions of dollars in Dept. of Defense spending as well, since they excel at soaking their citizens come tax time.

That is exactly what it is. I agree with you . Many people are adult in body and child like in mind when it comes to the logic of a budget being off and the party being over.

The 46,000,000-50,000,000 uninsured number is extremely misleading, since 75% of those folks could get it tomorrow if they wanted it.

Go buy Sally Pipes's standout book (Top Ten Myths About American Healthcare), and you'll immediately learn that the actual number of folks who really need healthcare assistance is under 10,000,000.

Consequently, you don't need a 2,700+ page bill with a multi-trillion dollar price tag, including the creation of 100+ bureaus, agencies, commissions, and other hyper-constipated bureaucratic entities which have nothing to do with healthcare to help those folks.

But what else would you expect from a bunch of economically illiterate Democrats, as well as from a President who received in excess of $19,000,000 from Big Pharma during his run for the WH in 2008?

Do we risk even great economic hardships a little further down the road or do we risk a hard time now for a much better time in the future? If we had somebody wanting to cut spending 20 or 30 or 40 years ago we wouldn't be in the dire economic situation we are in now. Blame the Obamas of the past. How can the Obama of today doing the exact same passing of the buck as in the past be expected NOT to fail?

And if the democrats had proposed and passed a similar spending cut (never happen of course!) would you still post it and agree that it would cause a drain on the economy? Or is it a purely partisan issue with you?

As if continuing to spend monies we don't have and printing monies will actually help the economy. Haven'tly we learned that spending trillions of dollars and producing jobs that cost some 250,000 a whack isn't working either? Face it, democratic party use of keynsian economics is wrong and destructive. Cut the damn budget in a meaningful way.

If you have a budget crunch you both raise taxes and you cut spending. If you raise taxes it is on the Americans making over $250k. Also, if you cut spending you need to use your brain which is absent with the currrent conservative party.

So no jobs bill and a double recession due to Repblicans and Tea Party in Congress. I don't think we will see very many conservatives in Washingon starting 2012. I love all the rednecks who are refuting a report by an analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Apparently this is okay for the misinformed. For the rest of us who want a healthcare system that works and to lower healthcare costs obama's healthcare plan is great. When we add a public option the price pressure will lower healthcare costs even further.

Here is the deal... you should never support a broken system. You fix it. The process of fixing it will hurt insurance company profits but it is a broken system.

Sorry for double post.
Speaking of not having yur facts straight, or having them at all. Add those "50 million" to the insurance rolls and the price will go down?

Were you educated in the Chicago school system?

Our economy is going to tank no matter what. It's past the point of no return.
