With Khadafi in the news I figured some of you might not know that back in the 80's a Chicago street gang actually went to Libya to volunteer their terrorist services to Khadafi for large sums of cash by carrying out attacks in America.

From the linked article in the OP.

Quote:
The plot began in early 1986, when Fort discovered that Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, had received $5 million from Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Khadafy, who had ruled Libya since 1969. In the 1970s and ‘80s, Khadafy supported revolutionary movements, mostly Muslim, throughout the world, and he hated Uncle Sam.
Well, looky there, Obama's friend and Chicago neighbor!

I remember back in the 80's Khadafi was encouraging Black-Americans to rise up against their white oppressors. I guess some Blacks like this gang got things twisted especially since they were already criminals. Khadafi has portrayed himself as some type of advocate for African liberation on the continent also.

I think it is fairly safe to say, Khadaffi is, well, on the side of bonkers or at least a half a bubble off of level.

The man is a total loon.

A year or two ago when he toured Italy, he gave a speech where he said that the root of "democracy" comes from the Arabic word for "chair," and the world will not be free and democratic until everyone in the world sits in chairs.

Here in the West, we don't let nutjobs like that run the country. We give them their own show on the Fox Network.

I hadn't heard of his Italy speech, but one journalist (I can't remember who) recently said that he was the oddest and most off the wall person he had interviewed. While it is easy to toss out hyperbole when describing such colorful characters, I'm pretty convinced the guy is honestly mentally unbalanced, and not even in a funny way like that kooky uncle in most folks families.

Great, lets hope his son doesn't have delusions of grandeur like pops, just what we need in the Middle East, yet another unstable megalomaniac.
