Mexico is on the verge of being a failed state, so there is absolutely no possibility anybody here - illegal residents included - would consider voting to join that clusterf**k. The Republic of the Rio Grande and Aztlan activists are nothing more than a handful of fringe nutjobs.

Having said that, Texas is more culturally compatible with Mexico than with New England....and I for one like it that way.

And the voting patterns of "American" hispanics.

Oh, and the 52% of hispanics that don't pay federal income tax.

So, I guess it's the majority that are bringing the image down.

Texas would suffer if the federal government were to ever cut back on Medicaid funding and some of those huge federal grants for schools. No way can the property taxes here support all the imported poverty being brought in.

Right now poverty is big business. Medicaid money pours into Texas to provide for doctors, nurses, hospitals for the large increasing populations, and food stamps keep the grocery stores full and busy. Federal grant money allows for expensive schools to be built, laptops handed out to all the children along the border while other districts can't afford even books.

Poverty is big business -- as long as the money keeps pouring in for it. Texas is doing great but if the federal government should decide to cut back even a little, there will be reprecussions.

In many areas of Texas, more children are born into Medicaid, food stamps and other welfare programs than are born to employed taxpayers.

Immigrant hispanics outnumbered the American-hispanics some time back.

It's not the American middle class Spanish surnamed that suddenly decided to start having huge families they could never support, most American hispanics are no different than whites - they have the same issues, high cost of living, mortgages to pay, high taxes - as everyone else.

The huge increase is due to very massive and unlimited immigration. And yes some are coming to work hard for low wages - but those low wages can't support the very large families they have.

And yes, EITC brings in lots of money to Texas. And illegals know how to get the EITC money also.

Since the outflow of tax revenue from Texas to Washington exceeds what we get back, let's just keep it all here.

Is stating facts racist? I look forward to the inevitible accusations of racism.
Stating facts is ONLY racist when it makes a minority look bad. If it makes whites look bad, it is not only NOT racist, but highly "desireable" from the lefty POV.

You will notice that liberals always want you to avoid steorotypes, and deal with peopls as individuals, UNTIL it is to their advantage to use stereotypes (group statistics). The above group statustics are NOT what I am referring to, but if you had a statistic on how poor they are, well that would be one of those "good" group statistics, ie. "legitimate" in their distorted opinions (ITDO) becauseit wold be "proof" of discrimination.

One thing Rush helps you with is how to see pas the abject fraud that is the disease liberalism.

Poverty grows in Texas border city - Fox News Latino

So far this year, 140,372 of El Paso's 649,000 residents have applied for food stamps.

"Poverty keeps growing in our state, especially along the border with Mexico," Stephanie Goodman, communications director at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Austin, told Efe.

Yes, they may be pouring over the border by the tens of thousands but it's not jobs bringing them here.
