If you don't believe the pendulum will swing backwards there's no need to talk realties with you.

The benefit package we all enjoy today are possible only because of what unions did for this country. Without them and the NLRB do you think your employer will continue to be as paternal to you as they have in the past.

Why is it that prior to the unions working conditions were so abysmal, no benefits, no retirement, no vacation, etc

It was because ,"unites we stand divided we fall" and the corporate elite knew this. This was the reason behind private police forces and the jailing and killing of union organizers.

You keep ignoring what's going on around you if you will, there were even some on the Titanic who still believed the ship was unsinkable even as the cold water began to run over their feet.

As a disabled veteran I am not upset about the memorial, I am upset about America being sold out to the Koch Brothers. The fight for freedom is in the streets of Madison

No, it's because some older people feel their age gives them the right to be disrespectful to anyone younger than themselves!!

Thank You!!!...why do so many people want to assume that all veterans are brainless patriots who are too stupid to know what's going on around them.

You clearly believe the working man needs to be squeezed harder...work more for less pay, fewer benefits and no retirement so the richest 2% can have their Chinese tax cut and get richer and richer and richer.

FYI, Mr. History Buff, under Eisenhower (a Republican) the top tax bracket was over 90%.
I take it you have no concept how reducing spending/services would be beneficial to stimulating the economy and reducing the deficit in one fell swoop, huh? The rich more than pay their part, it's called a progressive tax structure. And you must be living in la-la-land if you think taxes are low right now. You must not live in WI.

Yes. Thank you for pointing this out. A ramification the liberals refuse to see through their rose-colored glasses.

I don't think any of what you guys think "hurts business" actually has that effect. Notice that the biggest economic crap festival since the Depression occurred during an era of furious deregulation, and now while hard working Americans struggle to make ends meet, the "businesses" that Obama is supposedly hurting so badly are all setting profit records. Can you people even tie your own shoes, or does Limbaugh do that for you too?
You're forgetting that people will not work for a wage they don't believe is fair. There would be no sweat shops if min wage was abolished, but if there were, the people working there would have no right to complain. Don't like it? Improve your skill set and find something better.

Btw, big business is not the best indicator of how the economy is doing. It's the small businesses that make this country great and employ the majority of Americans. How are THEY doing?
