AARP is both a union and an insurance company. They keep asking me to renew and the insurance part keeps me from doing it.

This is from an Ohio University study. Of course, no one has ever been able to dispute this study.
I would surely never disagree with all that truth in one place.

I have been a member of the Fraternal Order of Police since the 1960s, without unions Police Officers would still be hired thugs and good ol boys

Workers have power. It's called get a new job if you don't like the one you have. We would be much better off with no unions at all. They are slowly destroying this country.

Default Do you approve of unions?

I've been a union member. No longer, I now work in management. But I've worked as labor in both union and open shops. I've worked as management in both union and open shops.

The union shops were better.

I've been there.

Oh bull.
The standard of living of Americans has been on a downward trend for just about the same amount of time as the unions have been weakeningl. THAT is no coincidence.

The standard of living of Americans has been a downward trend, this is correct.
The standard of living has been to high and this has more to do with the globalization of the economy than anything else. We have to compete with the world and that won't happen with overpaid union workers. It's just the way it is.
Doesn't matter what you or I think about it.

The union thing is funny. I worked in automotive manufacturing. One of our plants voted in the UAW. They got less pay, and worse benefits than the rest of us. They regretted the decision every day since then.

Unions are businesses. The leaders sit back making there 300,00 grand a year convincing everyone they need to be in unions. Gee, I wonder why....

Unions have well lost their usefulness to the men and women of our country. They are a crutch and do not have the workers best interest in mind.

Unions: voice of the mediocre and dull.

To those who support public sector unions how do you feel about them being in position to elect their own bosses?
