It makes sense for him to publicly announce at the point where they have the additional Senators they need to kill the bill--without it he's taking a stand against the leadership of his own party for nothing. I think they need a pledge from unions that they'll help turn out volunteers to campaign for them come election time or if they face a recall vote, and I'm betting it's in the works. They SHOULD back them. It's the right thing to do, and I'm sure they're going to WANT to back them if they come through on this. They'll deserve every ounce of support that they get from labor.
This is what i'm hearing also is schultz is in "heavy talks" with fellow moderate republicans. I think it's all going to come down to if he can get two other republicans to side with him. It's going to be a tough political decision on their part, but throwing Walker under the bus is the right thing to do.

They can consider all they want, the problem that is insurmountable is that THERE IS NO MONEY.

How do the public employees and their unions think they're going to extract money that isn't there from their local neighbors - you know, the people who pay for their salaries and benefits?

71% of Americans DON'T want to pay any more of any kind of tax.

How do the public employee unions reconcile that with their expectation to be able to demand more from the taxpayers?

Are politicians willing to risk their political futures by voting against the interests of that 71% majority?

Not one of you has answered those questions.

And there is about to be $167 million less because Walker would rather bust the unions than close the deficit.

The Unions agreed to all the financial concessions over a weeks ago.

That's true, and Walker spent 140 million to bankroll the rich and his cronies. Downright disgusting.

The unions have agreed to everything financial that Walker has proposed.

Likely, but there is no tax hike on the table.

They aren't demanding anything from the tax payers, they understand the financial hardship and again they have agreed to everything Walker has proposed financially.

Again there is no tax hike. The majority of americans are behind the pro-workers rights people. Walker is going against the interests of the people.

Unfortunately, I doubt most of today's TEACHERS could pass it!

Do you even HAVE kids in the public school system? I have 5, and at least according to their standardized test scores (compared against a national average), they're getting a great education. If you do have kids, with that type of attitude I'm sure most teachers would be glad if you made the decision to have your precious little darlings home schooled.

Attitudes like this are exactly the reason why teachers need a union and a collective bargaining process that give them a grievance procedure, because with some people, it's always the teachers fault, and never their child's (or, heaven forbid, the parent who does zero follow through at home).

Still rooting for the moderate R's in Wisconsin to do the right thing.

You mean the bipartisan-supported tax cuts that encourage businesses to move to WI and encourage job growth?
Quote:
Even though the tax cut bill he signed Monday and other agenda have garnered bipartisan support, Democratic critics say much of what Walker is doing is more symbolic than substantive.
For example, only $1 million in tax breaks is expected to be distributed to qualifying businesses that relocate to Wisconsin under the bill Walker signed Monday. Another tax cut Walker is backing that's tied to every new job created would come with a tax benefit of only between $90 and $315 per job.

By all means, let's not support job growth. Perhaps you can explain how not encouraging companies relocating to WI and job growth will close the $3.6 billion budget deficit Doyle admittedly left Walker.

What's the plan for that, HD?

The unions have not relinquished collective bargaining for benefits, which always has been included in the plan Walker was elected on by an overwhelming majority of WI voters.

Try again...

They keep avoiding my questions as well. There is no money, where is it going to come from? Taxes are already too high. They also won't tell me what purpose modern-day unions serve. That's b/c they have no purpose! They just can't admit that they are wrong here.
