Will I be able to drive in a car pool lane, too?! Extra bonus, once I move back to America.

Funny how loans are mentioned and the first thing you do is say that they don't have to be paid back. I've always paid my loans back.

Are you really so lacking in integrity that the first thought that goes through your mind in most situations is dishonesty?
Wow, what it must be like in your head.

That's how it works in NY at least, if you have certain hybrid cars, you get a special sticker and can drive in the car pool lanes even if you only have one person in the car.

And now you blame the government for it. Cool!
I was thinking the same thing. I know that car was exhibited at the 2008 NY Auto show and the price was always ~$40K. Not saying that it's reasonable, just saying.

Someone should tell these folks that there are plenty of vehicles that sell for $40K or more.

That was one of my points, you can buy a good fullsize 3/4 ton 4wd power stroke diesal crewcab for that.

Sure, but why should I, when I prefer cars and can't stand driving a pickup (much less own one). I rent when I need one.

Are you telling me people don't buy $40K cars during recession? Where do you live? Besides, the Volt design and cost has not been a secret for years now. It was going to be placed in mid-lυxury segment pricewise then, and it is now.

I always thought it was ridiculous of GM management at the time to not take baby steps and create a lesser Volt for less and eventually move to the Li-ion pack. I've dozens of posts on the topic in some automotive forums over last couple of years on the subject.

It is, in part, the kind of mismanagement that has put GM where it is now.
