I will definitely be using hand sanitizers and wipes after going to the grocery store from now on.

It's getting bad.
Everytime I go to the store it seems as though I have to navigate around more bodies.

If you've been to the bathroom today, you have fecal matter on your own hands. You have it on your butt. It's all over your bathroom, including on your toothbrush. It's in the water you drink and the food you eat.

Don't worry about it. It won't kill you.

Not on mine. I keep it in a toothbrush case that I clean regularly.

Think before you flush or brush | Serendip's Exchange
"One way to see this is to put a dye in the toilet, flush it, and then hold a piece of paper over it" (8). Indeed, Gerba's studies have shown that the water droplets in an invisible cloud travel six to eight feet out and up, so the areas of the bathroom not directly adjacent the toilet are still contaminated. Walls are obviously affected, and in public or communal bathrooms, the partitions between stalls are definitely coated in the spray mist from the toilet

How your computer keyboard is FIVE TIMES dirtier than your toilet seat - and could even give you 'qwerty tummy' | Mail Online

It warned that 'qwerty tummy', named after the first six letters on a keyboard, could sweep through workplaces after tests on equipment in its own London offices showed alarming results.
One keyboard was so dirty that a microbiologist ordered it to be removed, quarantined and cleaned.
It had 150 times the acceptable limit for bacteria and was five times as filthy as a typical lavatory seat.

I use

I'm waiting patiently for some crusading officeholder to introduce the Anti-Fecal Matter Bill in Congress. As we all know, passing laws is the way to solve problems.

Well, OK. Washing your hands might help. But then that would have to be made mandatory, too. And that one might need more than just a plain, garden-variety law. I suspect nothing less than an Amendment to the Constitution would suffice.

I think of the grocery store and especially the shopping carts as one big inoculation against common diseases. Now and then I consider using those hand sanitizer jells or wipes but I can just see those things killing the weaker germs while the stronger germs survive and become more resistant. Meanwhile my body's immune system becomes more frail.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not about to lick the handle on a shopping cart... well, maybe on a dare.
