President Obama is trying to repair the damage done to our image around the world in recent years. His mature diplomacy has included what conservatives call "apologizing" for previous American indiscretions and heavy-handedness.

Are these diplomatic statements presidential or should Obama just wave his middle fingers at our allies when they bring up what they perceive to be disrespectful behavior by the United States?

He should STAY OUT of it. Bring the TROOPS HOME and not make our foreign relations any wprse than they already are by forcing every other nation to run their nation according to the way we think it should be run. We also have to stop blackmailing leaders of third world countries into letting us take over their natural resources by allowing our corporations in there; disrupting their way of life and expecting their people to work for the corporation at slaves wages in return for paying off a handful of the government elites of that country to allow us in. It is totally unethical and contrary to everything most naive Americans think this country stands for.

No

America has done more good to the world than it has done damage.

Obama's never apologized. Conservatives tend to see admission of fault as a sign of weakness, so that's why they get up in arms over it. That's why Bush, also, strutted around as if there were no problems until even he had to admit the economy was collapsing on him. In reality, it's a sign of great strength to be able to say, "We're not perfect, but neither are you." which is what Obama's done every time.

So, I think it's helped to hold everybody accountable and function in the new global economy with many rising powers.

I seem to recall him going on tour to the islamic countries to talk about how his administration wanted to work with muslims rather than against. You don't remember that?
