Nah.

We're much better than other nations.

We are exceptional. That's why so many people are trying to get in.

I'M sorry that you don't see it.

Yeah, I especially like Brazil in that list. Russia and India should be included as well.

I know that you are being sarcastic.

But in reality, we are better than any other nation on earth.

Norway, Canada, Great Britain to name a few.

Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, New Zealand, Australia . . . I could go on and on

Canada, Australia, Mexico and Brazil come to mind. Brazil even took in many Americans after the Civil War.

This is just nationalistic, egotistical, jingoistic claptrap. It's not based in reality. Everyone thinks their nation is the best (just like everyone thinks their kid is the best, smartest, etc.), but in reality, it's no better than anywhere else.

We were better years ago, then we lost manufacturing, our balls, and other crafts to other countries.
We score terrible in education and we draw losers from most third world nations who only managed a second grade education.

I know we are nice people overall taking in more people than the rest of the world combined, but why can't we get a balanced budget amendment so we quit raiding the treasury and trying to give social benefits we can't pay for?

Anyone? Anyone?

Any failure of Cuba's system is due to corruption, lack of democracy and/or extremism, not the system itself. I'm not saying let's abolish all private business! I'm saying it should be tightly regulated -- wage controls, price controls, employment quotas -- and it should compete with publicly-owned firms.

Also, how is the U.S. healthcare system for the millions of uninsured? It's not so good for those who DON'T have access to healthcare at all, or have to go into bankruptcy after getting medical treatment they couldn't afford. I'd rather have crappy healthcare than NO healthcare.

For-profit healthcare is evil. Period.
So if a company spends tens of millions of dollars developing a treatment for cancer that cut mortality rates by 80%, they would be wrong to charge for it? Not just wrong, but evil?

What are you, 15?

I never understood the objection so many people have for paying for expensive (yes, they cost a lot of money even in places with national healthcare) and modern medical treatments. If you are willing to spend money on a car or a house why are you opposed to spending it on your health or your life?
