I am quite well aware of that. It would take too long to name them all. I dont see any of them "give back to the community". That is more b.s. and PR.

Oh, after the huge lawsuits against Philip Morris in 2004 they painted an assisted living facility in Dania Beach FL where I was a social worker. They had a bunch of kids come in and paint the walls green. Yeah, great job. ...

Maybe Halliburton donated 100,000 scheckels to the salvation army too. Spare me the defense of multinational corporations. Anyone with an education knows what they pay in tax, and what they do to make profit from blood, war, oil whatever.

What about the company that developed the artificial heart?
See there are companies that don't produce products that are potentially pernicious.

Lucky you, there's a nice warm country just south of Florida that you can go to in order to escape the horrors of capitalism. Or if you like a colder climate there's always North Korea and they take in the occasional American defector from time to time.

Income and taxes paid by large companies is public information. I'll help you with some examples;

CSC FY08 Pre tax income: $917 million. Taxes paid: $373 million

IBM FY10. Pre tax Income $13 billion. Income taxes paid $8 billion

Dell FY 11. Pre tax income $3433 million. Income taxes paid $715 million

and on and on and on.

Yes, they do pay taxes.

Trust me, I hate crony/gangster/casino/etc capitalism as much as the next guy. I rail against those blood sucking banksters and their DC lapdogs. But some people need to cut it out with the "because it's a corporation it's evil" meme. There are some good honest corporations and there are some bad ones. If anything, don't "hate the player, hate the game." In other words rail against the cronies in DC that rig system so their paymasters can dominate. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Then stop partaking in something that you find so unsavory. Don't earn a paycheck, or buy goods.

Living under a rock? Or only listening to NPR? In case you hadn't noticed, the Tea Party were enraged about the bailouts. And not just at the government. They were as angry at the companies taking the bailouts as those giving it.

And you thought it was only a cover-up for a Klan Rally.......
