Because the monopolies they created to assure their wealth took money from everyone else just as if they were a government they imposed on us. Their money was not earned it was stolen.
Capitalism sucks. Period. I know that may sound shocking, but it's true -- at least of unregulated, laissez-faire "free market" capitalism. It screws the poor and middle class out of a decent living, while enriching the corporations that send our jobs overseas and making the fat cats even fatter. It is a disgusting, evil system based upon greed and avarice. It is based on the lust for more, more, MORE while stopping at nothing to feed that desire.
In a capitalist system, corporate execs will slash thousands of American jobs to add a few pennies to their annual bonuses. They will send skilled jobs to China and Cambodia, laying off American workers and forcing children to work in sweatshops for pennies per day. These soulless organizations will sell out American workers to save a pittance, reaping record profits while we grow more and more desperate. If people here are fortunate enough to keep their jobs, they'll see their wages slashed, pensions cut and benefits scaled back. When unions try to stand up for workers rights, the government moves in to bust the unions in the name of "saving money" (look at what's happening in Wisconsin). However, raising taxes on the rich and corporations is out of the question. The government gives corporate behemoths tax breaks and exemptions and even bailouts while cutting essential services like education and unemployment benefits. It is disgusting.
It's not just about jobs either. Take healthcare. A man works hard, goes to college, and gets a good job with health benefits. If he loses his "good job," he'll be out of luck, becoming one of the millions of uninsured Americans. At least in almost any other developed country, you don't have to worry about lacking health insurance because you lose your job. Also, what of all the people with pre-existing conditions - the private health insurance companies look for ways to deny them.
People keep talking about "high taxes" and how they don't want to pay taxes. I really don't get this. I'd rather pay higher taxes and get better services than save money on taxes and have to fight the corporate machine to get essential services like healthcare. I'd rather tax the living crap out of the rich and corporations to ensure everyone gets a free education, a living-wage job, a home, unlimited unemployment insurance and guaranteed access to free or very low-cost healthcare and prescription drugs.
I have to laugh at the people who tell other to emigrate to another country. If it were only that easy. Immigration to nearly every country on earth is just about impossible. We used to take almost anyone here at one time "Give us your poor, your tired masses..." ect. All countries in the world either hate us & won't let us in, or will only let our uber-elite in.
Most European countries will only let you in if you have a PhD or have really, really deep pockets. An MIT professor with a PhD in mathematics could move to France, Oprah or Madonna could move to France, but just an average middle class person, no way. On the other hand, they have no problem letting people in from Middle-Eastern countries who have no skills, no education, and have no desire to learn the language. Things are totally a$$-backwards in Europe immigration wise.
Someone mentioned Cuba...lol. As soon as you set foot on Cuban soil you'd most likely be arrested and detained indefinitely for being thought of as an American spy. The only exception might be if you're of Cuban descent and still have family there. Even then, the authorities there would be watching your every move.
A few Asian countries like China will allow Americans in to teach English, but no one in their right mind would want to live in China. Their government is brutally oppressive, the internet is very filtered and restricted, and it's overcrowded and polluted.

You are correct ... the system is a total fraud, from top to bottom. It didn't start out that way, but over the course of the 100 years ... since the international gangsters conspired to bribe it's way into control of the US Financial system, and ultimately gained total control of government because of their monopoly on currency, banking and global finance, we have what can only be described as "financial slavery" operating by means of a ponzi scheme.
Not many people in this country understand what is going on because they have been lied to their entire lives ... kindergarten through PhD. Free markets cannot possibly exist when the creation and flow of currency is controlled by monopoly men.
And, unless you are one of them ... you are their SLAVE, PERIOD. The majority are "field slaves" .... your typical employed worker. Then you have more privileged class slaves who come in the form of small business owners and entrepreneurs. The field slave ... the employee does what he is told to do .... which now includes peeing in a cup to be internally analyzed by your potential "slave boss". You are allowed to work your 40, 50, 60+ hours, and at the end of the period, you get a piece of paper which you can then redeem at the bank for more worthless pieces of paper (less deductions taken automatically by your overlords ... who are literally telling you that they own you by taking a portion of what you worked for). Then you get to pay for your "room and board" with the money you are allowed to keep, with most of that going back to those that run the system who also own the corporations that distribute the food, the clothing, the entertainment, the gadgets, the cars, the booze, the cigarettes. And they watch you closely. Cameras set up in public to watch your movements ... phone calls and emails monitored .... purchases tracked .... and fees collected to pay for your own enslavement. Vehicle registrations, inspections, insurance, driver licenses, fishing licenses, hunting permits, building permits, vendor permits, fees, fees, and more fees. You cannot "spit" without a "permit". Travel? You have to have your ID ... Travel by Air, they get to physically molest you and your family, strip search you, and show you who's boss. THEY OWN YOU .... which now also includes the air you breathe ... or more accurately, the CO2 that you exhale.
Someone calls in a tip, saying you have drugs in your home, the SWAT team arrives, kicks in your door, shoots your family dog, and if they find a banned substance, they can take everything. If they find nothing ... well, tough .... sorry bout the dog, he he ha ha.
You have children? YOU WILL HAVE THEM INJECTED WITH POISONS. You will send them to school to be trained like you were, so that they can then take your place on the plantation when you're too old to get anymore usefulness out of you. And it's all been recorded .... at birth, they take their sample of blood to catalog your DNA ... assign you an inventory control number (Social Security), and offer you as collateral to the overlords, with estimates of how much you will produce based on your estimated life span.
You're free !!! .... that's what you are told .... the reality is, you are free to do as you are told, and believe what you are told, or suffer the consequences for non-compliance.
