No, it could not be made today, and I am actually surprised the PC crowd is not screaming about the fact it is even being shown.
Here is why, Peter Jackson is in pre-production planning for a remake of The Dam Busters, and one of the big issues they have to deal with is the name of Guy Gibson's dog, which was used as the code word signalling the success of the mission, the name of the dog was n!ger. Gibson's dog was killed hours before they were to launch on the mission to destroy the dams in the Ruhr Valley. Gibson named the dog because of it's color, it is Latin for a black dog. It is part of history, yet because of PC, they are having to debate the issue.
