It WAS a terrorist attack period.

I forgot, terrorist attacks cannot happen on our soil and we caused this because it was a "man made disaster" right?

Amazing.

They were in Texas.. Some might consider Texas an enemy, but I dont. What action were they engaged in?

We are not in a conflict against muslims in Texas... not even radical muslims in Texas.. I might be wrong about this, maybe you can sight a source to some military action we are taking place in Texas.. I know about the ones in Iraq, Afghanistan, but are we now attacking Texas?

Thats not what I said.. Clearly Afghanistan and Iraq are conflicts we are engaged in..

There isnt one classification under they would qualify for to receive the purple heart.. Civilians can get the awards also, did we give them out for those victims of 9/11?

During subsequent conflicts (Vietnam and Operation DESERT STORM), the individual must have been wounded as a result of enemy action (direct or indirect).

From the links.. We are NOT at a conflict in Texas.. Muslims are not our enemy... By supporting this award just for being harmed/killed by a muslim, you are indeed saying we are at war with all muslims.. Is this something you are willing to say is true?

Again, from the link..

During subsequent conflicts (Vietnam and Operation DESERT STORM), the individual must have been wounded as a result of enemy action (direct or indirect).

What enemy are we in Texas for? We are NOT at war with muslims.. If we declared war on muslims then yes, they would qualify, but since we are not, and muslims are not our ENEMIES..

You start handing them out everytime a kook attacks one of our personnel you are setting a dangerous precidence.. What if the next attack is done by a Frenchmen, are you then going to claim that the french are our enemy just because they are french just to give people the award? Maybe the next one will be a Christian, are we going to declare we are at war with christians so they can get purple hearts as well?

Not to nit-pick. But they are medals. Not metals.

Because the perpetrator was an American soldier acting on his own initiative.

The only acts of terrorism that are eligible for the purple heart are acts of "international terrorism."

It's right there in the reg.

There's really no such thing as a "personal war." It is a metaphor at best.
