When I was in the Air Force a few years ago, they told us the AF was about 75% white. So really, this just seems to reflect the overall background. I'm not sure what the other branches are like though.

Having less White people around is not necessarily a good or bad thing. It's just a reality.

In 2000 the group of people classified as non-Hispanic White One race made up about 69.5% of the population. In 2009 that percentage stood at 65.10%. In the same time period that population of the United States grew about 9.1%.

Among non-Hispanic Americans of one race

The population of the group of people classified as non-Hispanic White One race grew 2.2%.

The population of people classified as Black of African American grew at 9.8%.

The population of people classified as American Indian or Alaskan native grew at 12.6%.

The population of people classified as Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander grew at 22.1%

The population of people classified as Asian grew at 32.7%

And the other hand

The population of people classified as two or more races (non-Hispanic) grew at 33.8%.

For those classified as Hispanic Americans the population grew at 37.1%.

The hand writing is clearly on the wall. By 2050 at the latest people classified as non-Hispanc White Americans of one race will NO LONGER CONSTITUTE A MAJORITY IN THE UNITED STATES. In fact of the current population growth trends stay in place it will happen long before 2050.

The United States is going through the biggest demographic change in its history.

Buckle up its going to be a rough ride. Many people just aren't ready for the new political social and economic realities these changes are going to cause.

The bottom line is grossly overshoots the percentage of non-Hispanice White Americans in this country.

More importantly it doesn't address the fact that the percentage of non-Hispanic White Americans is decreasing and will continue to decrease for the forseeable future.

He was also a Muslim who joined the military, his father said, in part to show his countrymen that not all Muslims are terrorists.

"He was an American soldier first," said his father, Feroze Khan . "But he also looked at fighting in this war as fighting for his faith. He was fighting radicalism."

How scary. I'd rather have the most qualified people in charge of defending our country.

What's next? That people operating rooms aren't diverse enough?

Did you even read the report? There is no suggestion that underqualified people be promoted.

Apparently many have short memories. Whenever there is a liberal in the White House, the military always suffers social re-engineering. In 1993 the Democrat controlled Congress and Clinton enacted Don't Ask Don't Tell, and we saw how well that went. In 1977 the Democrat controlled Congress and Carter lowered the military standards, putting everyone in the military at greater risk, just to allow more women to join. So why is it a surprise that Democrats and Obama would put at further risk our military for the sake of social re-engineering? The utter contempt the left has for the military is well documented.
