$40 Billion here, $10 Billion previously, $2 Billion for the 5-6 stop gap - the GOP got almost ALL of the $61 Billion in cuts they were after.

Considering the dems were offering about $10 billion at the start, this is good, but not nearly enough.

But people, this is just the start.

CNN Congressional Producer Deirdre Walsh reported that a senior GOP aide in the meeting called it the "largest real dollar spending cut in American history" and said the proposal would cut more than $500 billion from the federal budget over the next 10 years.
Peanuts, in the scheme of things, but a start.

The Planned Parenthood worked very well as leverage. Make no mistake, they might not be completely defunded, but they will be cut in the 2012 budget.

The REAL battle will take place in a few short weeks - the debt ceiling. The GOP has the leverage there too and WILL use it to trim off the fat obama and the dems have created. Big cuts coming there.

Boehner's got some big brass ones.

Everyone will be cut in the 2012 budget, except of course defense.

Anyone who pays any attention to politics had to know this was going to come down to the very last hour, Boehner and Reid both had to go back to their party and say they fought the good fight and got the best deal they could.

I hope alot of voters watched at least some of the coverage and got more of an idea how some of these Senators and Congressman really feel and that we as voters will take away a sense of how very important it is to vote and to make smart decisions when we vote.

It was extended for a week, so they can get everything written down, but they did come to an agreement to cut $39 billion and take off the Title X funding cut riders.
