I think if a man holds the door open for you and you complain your a nutcase, id slam the door in their face next time.
Theres feminism where you believe in equality in the workplace, female works while man stays home, etc.
and then theres simply man-hating.
If you disfavor the whole father giving away the daughter, do you also disfavor the husband buying and presenting the engagement ring? A woman should be ablle to do the same to the man too right? Where do you draw the line between tradition and sexism?
But I also believe in equal pay and rights for women.
Do you hate me?
I don’t believe all men would rape if they got the chance. That’s ludicrous. Clearly it sounds like these women were quite extreme.
I do believe some men hate women though. I don’t know if this stems from the way their mother treated them or from other things. I have a friend who, after being stung too many times, believes all women are just sluts who will use you for your money, then leave you. I find his attitude very bitter and sad.
And there are just as many women who hate men. And those are the ones I hate back.
Feminism became a dirty word when the pendulum swang too far off the mark.
Equal pay for equal work, sure - what reasonable person can't see the fairness in that?
But when feminazi types do their best to convince other women that all men are dogs and that no real woman "needs" one in her life they are hurting the very fabic of our society.
Note to radical feminists - Real women love men, real women value men, real women understand the importance of giving their children involved fathers.
I don't know when and how feminism became such a dirty word. To me it just means wanting women not to be oppressed by a male-dominated society, and to have choices that men typically have. A man can be a feminist if he cared about women's rights. I think of fanatics as "feminazis". It is really a disgrace to the feminist movement that the meaning has become so distorted.
Very well said. Tried to rep you but have already given you too much.

Oh, most definitely! I take no offence whatsoever when my man holds the door open for me – in fact it makes me smile that after 9 years he still does!
But if you try to tell me that, for example, there is “something wrong” with women who don’t want children, that’s when my inner feminist comes out. Women aren’t just walking ovaries.

I think in this case they are just trying to move away from the dependency women had on men for so many years. Basically trying to say that you don’t need a man to survive. Just because you’re a single woman, doesn’t make you a failure.
That’s how I see it anyway.
