I find it impossible to understand why people can't see that this witch hunt will become the greatest recruiting tool that the terrorist could ever have. When you make it clear to people who always thought of themselves as good Americans that you view them as an "other"...a threat...someone not to be trusted....you have, in fact, created a self-fulfilling prophecy. When the thousands die who would not otherwise have died I wonder how many of you tough guys will be included in that number.

Why? Why a recruiting tool? Because the government is investigating on:
Quote:
Hearings before the Senate panel have included titles such as: “Violent Islamist Extremism: Al-Shabaab Recruitment in America,” “The Roots of Violent Islamist Extremism and Efforts to Counter It” and “Violent Islamist Extremism: Government Efforts to Defeat It.”
Discussing these key topics in the past on the panel makes this a "recruiting tool"?
If that's the case they deserve to be investigated because they are subversive and dangerous.

Except for the small detail that King's hearing isn't about questioning law-abiding American muslims, it's focused on the radicalization of American muslims. Why would a non-radical US muslim be offended by such a hearing? He's as likely to be killed by those nutjobs as anybody else.
King should have had a hearing on homegrown terrorism in general, then maybe the Muslims and their liberal apologists wouldn't get their panties in a twist.
How in the world is it "appeasement" to NOT insult and demean a entire group of American's because of their religion? The AMERICAN way is religious freedom. But why should it shock me when we look back at what we did to the Japanese during WWII? Or when you look back at the McCarthy witch hunt? Or all the Jim Crow laws? Or slavery for that matter. Why is it that instead of using our intelligence we find it easier to label anyone different in anyway as "evil" and treat them in such a way as to turn a neighbor into an enemy.

That doesn't sound like a right winger to me.
Comments about the IRS being "Big Brother", and his hate for the government certainly wasn't left wing.
The guy was a nut job and committed a terrorist attack. Domestic Terrorism, is Domestic Terrorism, whether by Muslims, the right, the left, or anyone else. If we are going to investigate radicalization and domestic terrorism, we should be doing it across the board.
But what would delude you into believing that this was one?
Why suddenly are these hearings causing such an outcry?
Quote:
King told the Hill on Tuesday that he was somewhat surprised by the public outcry over the hearings because the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has held multiple hearings of the same nature over the past several years, with little or no opposition.
Because the "left" are stirring up opposition in the democrats.
There is nothing wrong with having a hearing on radical islam in the USA.
