May I count you among those who believe that the highly compensated pay far too much in taxes and the middle class pay far too little in taxes?
Could you agree that business's pass the taxes they pay onto the consumer?
If you could agree to this what is the point in taxing them in the first place if we could just tax the consumer directly? At least the consumer knows what the tax is, you want to see some fireworks let the consumer know that half of what they pay for a product is tax.

I have no idea why you're so hot on this idea. Like it's some sort of revelation.
Businesses pass their expenses on to the consumer. Market demand is dictated by the amount of expenses that a consumer has.
The only thing accomplished by this ridiculous idea will be the poor paying an unfair percentage of taxes in relation to their income.
The government will still get their tax money, one way or the other. The question is, who gives it to them?
A flat income tax is the only "fair" tax out there. No credits, deductions, nothing. Make a buck, pay 10 cents. Whether you make that buck selling a house, trading stock, or just in your paycheck, it shouldn't matter. Ten cents.
The only credit should be if you LOSE money with certain activities that are tied to income. You lose money in the market, you write it off against your gains every year.
This is the only "fair" tax. Everything else is a handout to the poor, or a sweetheart deal for the rich.

No, my question was about individuals, not businesses and corporations.
Do you think that people who make more than say $500K should be taxed much less and people who make between $30K and $70K should be taxed much more?
Never going to happen because right now the majority pay no taxes,
They indirectly pay every time they purchase something.
Not sure if it was mentioned yet but one big bonus for eliminating taxes on business is their products now become that more competitive on global market.

This is because nothing in the U.S. is purchased, rather, everything is sold.
Sales tax per se is merely an oppressive tax on the lower classes, the lower, the more oppressive it is.
Have you really studied the Fair Tax and what it is? Your post sounds like you have failed to do this but are willing to fight it without much knowledge of how it works. Study up on it and then comment with all these socialist people.
The "Fair Tax" is just another scheme for the federal government to increase our tax burden. They will tell you it is a sales/consumption tax, but it is IN ADDITION TO the income tax not instead of the income tax. As long as the 16th Amendment is in place the federal government will always be able to tax our income.
The "fair tax" is a scam cooked up by the rich and upper middle class to increase the tax burden of the middle class and poor.
If you make $30k a year, and it costs you $30k to live, then you pay taxes on 100% of your income.
If you make 3 million a year, and it only costs you $600,000 to live. You are only paying taxes on 20% of your income.

It has actually be touted as a more progressive tax, in that the rich are the ones who purchase new things and thus would be paying more of this tax than anyone else. If the poor are spending their $30k/year to live, how is that taxable? Have you done ANY research on this at all?
