Yeah, that's a pretty short-sighted and insensitive commment that wreaks of elitism. I'm positive that most American's are not in any financial shape to even consider a $500+ Ipad.

Where do they find these people? More importantly, I thought Democrats were for the "little man?"

Many are, as long as they and their compadres don't have to leave their Federal environs and hang out with them or worse, be one.

How many people really NEED an IPad? If it is necessary for your job, granted, but is it really a necessity or a new toy for tech addicts?

Who are you to determine what people buy?
It seems that it'e none of your business.

In so much as what he's saying is accurate, the guy has a point. He just expressed it in a terrible way.

I do not care what people spend their money on - just stating an observation, and my opinion from that observation. I know a lot of folks that rush out to buy the latest "toys" they can ill afford and don't need, yet have trouble keeping a roof over their head, buying necessities for their kids, or making their car payments.

A really stupid comment. With rising fuel and food costs, the price of an Ipad is somewhat immaterial. Another baffling statement by an Obama drone.

Good point.

Throw in "who cares what people eat/wear/drive/shoot/housing type......." and the world will indeed be a happier place.

Anyway, I got the jist of the post.

Another example of a well meaning, out of touch bureaucrat.

Hard to believe...but I actually agree with you on something. You're right--it is none of our business what people buy.

Do you feel the same about the rich who pay the same percentage of their their income to taxes as the middle class?
