"We must close union offices, confiscate their money and put their leaders in prison. We must reduce workers' salaries and take away their right to strike.” ~ Adolf Hitler (May 2, 1933)
Hitler simply removed the old unions to put in new unions.
Those weren't labor unions. After all, labor unions were his political enemies and the union leaders were among the first residents of his concentration camp.
Hitler simply removed the old unions to put in new unions. Hitler's Germany had public ownership of the means of production, wage controls, price controls, amount controls, etc. It was a socialist's wet dream.
Hitler destroyed unions as he wanted the people to have no say or power in manufacturing and other business. The state and big business controlled everything, you worked and were paid what you were told you would get and that's it. That's fascism.

Unions that disagreed with his socialist policies, yes. Again, he put in new unions.
Public ownership was an outcome of dictatorship, the need to control everything. The fact that the unions supported socialists (German Social Democratic Party) was the reason he chose to kill the unions. He created "Labor Front" but this set up wasn't about union workers and more power to them (in fact, the right to strike, collective bargaining were removed), but to industrialists who were now funding the Nazi Party, and through whom Hitler was destined to govern as the dictator.
The hallmark of fascism took root, with emphasis on singularity in virtually every aspect of life... on patriotism, hatred of communism (hence, partly, of Jews... Hitler promptly pointed out that Karl Marx was a Jew), admiration of military value, promotion of heavy industry geared for war, and unquestioning obedience.
The implication that fascism is not socialism is hilarious. His policies were socialist in almost all aspects he simply added nationalism to it.
If Nazis were about "socialism", what were Social Democtrats (much less, communists) about? Fascism is about corporate state. You need to get that. Perhaps you can explain why a socialist would ban collective bargaining, take away workers' rights, kill workers' union and eliminate the right to strike. I can see why a fascist would.
The point is that this happened, Stop your school girl games.
There's a hell of a difference between it happening as a nation-wide, top-down implementation of an official policy, vs. it being a dispersed phenomenon undertaken by local parish priests.
One major difference being whether the churches were victims of a policy forced on them or it was the local men of the cloth acting on their own initiative. I can certainly see a motive for Christian historians to make it appear as if the German churches were forced into compliance rather than them being willing supporters, hence my skepticism.
