As usual, Juan Williams presents intelligent, thoughtful, insight in this critique of the network where he used to work and was so unfairly and rudely fired. His criticism is mainly of the Washington Elites of NPR, who have corrupted it.

JUAN WILLIAMS: It's Time to Defund NPR - FoxNews.com

"NPR's leadership under the likes of Weiss and the two Schillers...
created an anti-intellectual environment that took delight and pride in censoring journalists like me for honestly admitting that people dressed in Muslim garb make me nervous at airports. They had lost slight of promoting debates and providing information that is essential for people who want to be well-informed as citizens of a thriving democracy."

Reading this piece by Williams makes it clear that this man is way too professional, ethical and intelligent for what NPR has become. They really lost a gem when they foolishly let this guy go.

Juan Williams, while someone with whom I disagree on many things, is his own man. When he's on Fox News I never get the feeling he's advancing anyone's agenda save his own. That just won't do for National Patronizing Radio.

Isn't this just an outright admission by Williams that he's prejudiced against Muslims?

Further, when you think about it, isn't it just dumb to be afraid of "people dressed in Muslim garb" when it turns out that none of the 9/11 hijackers, Richard Reed, nor the underwear bomber, dressed in "Muslim garb" before getting on their flights?

Some of the statements by NPR people were inappropriate, such as Schiller's "between him and his therapist" statement, but I applaud NPR for standing up to anti-Islamic bigotry. How often do we see journalists fired for even pretty mildly criticizing Israel, or American foreign policy, or making other bigoted statements?

I think everyone realizes that the whole firing of Juan Williams was a prime example of NPR's Totalitarian type bullying people into silence.

Good for Juan Williams! I wish there were more Main Stream News Personalities with backbones besides Juan, Geraldo Revera and John Stossel and Judge Andrew Napolitano. The American Sheeple could really use more TRUTH and a lot less SPIN and LIES from the Media!

I don't care what Williams says, there is no legitimate reason to fund propaganda with taxpayer money.

I'd be afraid of people in Muslim garb because they could be hiding weapons underneath. There was an incident in France last year where bank robbers dressed up in burqas with niqabs and had firearms hidden underneath. To this day, I don't think they caught the robbers cause, no fingerprints, no facial recognition, nothing.
