I heard this on the radio today...

"Obama has morphed into Cheney" and they went on to say
-Gitmo is still with us
-Iraq
-Afghanistan
-Libya is next

IMO Obama may outdo Bush with how many countries we're fighting in at one time.

In fairness, Gaddaffi making statements of "we're coming and there is no where to hide" to citizens has painted the UN into a corner so to speak.

Unlike Iraq, where the UN was trying to keep war from happening with weapons inspectors etc.. its a bit different.

To be clear - we have ended the war in Iraq. Combat operations ended last year.

Nice to see France and Britain taking the lead. Hopefully it will be the quick operation Iraq was supposed to be. Will be interesting to see how much support the US provides.

Either way..certainly won't look good for a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Well, that's debatable. There is a revolution underway throughout the Middle East that has emerged from within the cultures themselves. The problem with Iraq was we were trying to force something on them from outside that wasn't really there.

If a quick operation can allow the peaceful revolutions to continue to spread, Obama (amongst others) could be given some credit for helping the movement toward democracy and peace in the Middle East.

Well, I don't know what to tell you. We're not longer fighting a war in Iraq. It's still not a safe place to be. So, the two realities don't strike me as mutually exclusive.

Some are gullible and others help spread the propaganda (see the post above yours).

Meanwhile today both D's and R's voted overwhelmingly to reject a quick draw down in Afghanistan and rubber stamp Obama's war with out end.

Why can't you have a conversation without resorting to the tired old gullible / propaganda line against everyone who proves you wrong?

It's quite obvious we are no longer in a war in Iraq, whether the remainign soldiers are getting combat pay or not. Would you really want them not receiving combat pay in such a turblent country?

I'm a lot more patriotic and supportive of the troops than that.
