I mean media that is spreading a point of view not frequented by CNN, FOX, talk radio and way outside of HS social studies.

I have two favorites. "Unwelcome guests" is my favorite, especially first 500 programs with Lynn Gery as a "host". It broadcasts various talks, readings of articles, book chapters, documentary soundtracks. No commercials, minimum of personal input from the host (if it's given, it's really well thought, to a point & short). It's not news& talk kind of broadcast, extremely unusual, it's not an "easy listening" either, you got to pay attention and think. I'm afraid I can't express ideological bias in a single word, it's not "liberal" definitely, producer collective calls it "
A program about wealth, power (http://www.oldamericancentury.org/FASCISM_NOT_US.jpg - broken link), and peoples' resistance to the corporate (http://www.arcor.de/ecards/images/picture0/f_pict/Karriereleiter.swf - broken link) world order", I would call it "A program about longing for something we've lost or never found, something we all long for (yup, that includes all shades on the right)". They have mp3 archive of all 540+ programs.

"N
ew World Notes" is my second favorite. It's more funny and light sided, more input from the host, shorter by 30 minutes but it discusses the same issues "Unwelcome guests" does. No commercials. It also has mp3 archive on:

Alex Jones (infowars.com) and sometimes Coast to Coast AM are my favorite non-mainstream sources
