Basically the president ordered his snipers to fire from the roofs after prayers ended, this resulted in the deaths of over 40 people, and over 200 injured, plus the tear gasses they use against the protestors, the doctors have not been able to identify it yet, because these gasses are illegal to use under international law. Believe it or not almost everyday over 40+ people get injured across yemen, the president is using excessive force because he knows the west is gonna side with him. Keep in mind that Yemen is a tribalistic country, which means if these people wanted to use violence then they'll do it in no time because they have the ability to do so, there's an estimated 60 million guns for 23 million people, but surprisingly they're protesting peacefuly, without any weapons. This shows that these people are willing to protest against the government peacefully like how the egyptians did but the yemeni government is using force for no reason. Plus after the massacre that happend today, the president apologized and he declared a state of emergency to arrest anyone at anytime, this was all planned out by his corrupt regime.
