I think we have the 14 points of fascism pretty well nailed.
And to think I was almost suckered right along with the rest of Tea Partiers...

"The dangerous American fascist is the man who wants to do in the United States in an American way what Hitler did in Germany in a Prussian way. The American fascist would prefer not to use violence. His method is to poison the channels of public information.

Destroy the Constitution, evade laws, and use propaganda through news outlets?

Sounds more like social/liberalism?

Good post!

Glad you chose not to bold in black. That would have been an attack.

On the senses, that is!

I thought we already disposed of this bit of disingenuousness weeks ago.

“Many modern liberals and leftists act as if they know exactly what fascism is. What’s more, they see it everywhere—except when they look in the mirror,”

"At the same time, Joseph Stalin, the General Secretary of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union, found it beneficial to label all ideas which he did not agree with as fascist; this included socialists who were disloyal to Moscow and, of course, the political right. Those loyal to his social doctrine also began to see communism and fascism on opposite ends when, as Goldberg asserts, both are in fact socialist in nature."

When a government is controlled by corporations and big business it’s a fascist nation. Our elected representatives are “paid off” by lobbyists everyday, so who do you think controls the government the people or the corporations? Look at what the industrial military complex has received in tax money over the last couple decades. Halliburton and BlackWater are just two of the many corporations sucking at the tit of the government. Both moved their corporate offices offshore to avoid the federal government looking into their books. The influence of government officials and corporations has destroyed the nation from within. President Eisenhower had warned Americans and no one listened.

Points 9 & 10 sound familiar to anyone???

9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.
10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.
