When have Democrats ever been anti-war? Democrats strongly supported the invasion of Afghanistan, of Somalia, and multiple wars going back to the founding of this country.

Democrats don't support unjust or stupid wars. This limited military conflict (let's hope) is valuable because Gadafi's attacks on his own people stand in the way of a rippling tide of revolution for democracy and potentially long-term peace in the region.

It really makes sense to jump on this unique moment in history when the people in such a strategic part of the world are rising up and demanding a new government and help from being slaughtered by a supporter of terrorism.

They are not a unified group. My support for action in Lybia is based on the right of people (even Lybians) to self determination and the prevention of human slaughter on a grand scale.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Gaddafi supported and often financed acts of international terrorism. He gave financial support to Islamic terrorist groups in Palestine and the Phillipines, Gaddafi sought close relations with the Soviet Union, and purchased arms from the Soviets. Gaddafi's support for paramilitary groups and international terrorism was often extended to groups including the Provisional IRA in Ireland, European terrorists in France and Germany, the United States, and Latin America.

Gaddafi had close ties with Slobodan MiloÅ¡ević. Gaddafi aligned himself with the Orthodox Serbs against Bosnia's and Kosovo's Muslims. Gaddafi supported MiloÅ¡ević even when other countries accused MiloÅ¡ević of ethnic cleansing in Kosovo.

Gaddafi was responsible for planting a bomb on Pan Am Flight 103, which came down on Lockerbie, Scotland. In 1981 Gaddafi was talking about assassinating American president Ronald Reagan.

Do you really want to defend this insane leader?
So using YOUR criteria the USA should attack any nation that any time in the past 40 years or so supported terrorist attacks....

I believe as Obama believes....

The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

What makes anyone think that Democrats are unwilling to stop cold blooded murderers?

Ever heard of Frank Roosevelt?
When did the USA attack Communist China to stop the killing of MILLIONS of it's own people?

ohhh,thats right,it didn't.

It seems the killing of civilians is only an excuse when the nation in question is weak.

What makes you think that Qaddafi has changed his ways? He has and still does support terrorism.....It is NOT an American war...It is a joint effort by the UN..Geez
