Sharia is already in the USA with financial corporations making accomidations to be "Sharia compliant".
I suspect those who support Sharia are Muslims who would like to see Sharia take over US law, believe that women do not deserve equal protection under the law, and are also supportive of the execution of homosexuals.
The US would be a better place for all if it was more tolerant of religions. The more Muslims in the US, the better it is as a country. I support Sharia law.
Tolerant of other religions, so would you allow Jews and Christians to enter your Mosque without ever converting that is??
While I oppose Sharia law, I'd think some people here might agree with Sharia law prohibiting fractional reserve banking and mandating that currency be backed by the gold standard.
Then why is CAIR fighting against the passage of state legislation banning Sharia from consideration in court? (See Oklahoma)
As I have no connection to CAIR I don't know their reasoning.
Oklahoma has practically no Muslims ; it's not Michigan, New Jersey, or California. How could there be Sharia law in a state without Muslims? Even in states with large Muslim populations it would not happen. For one thing, many American Muslims are in the US to get away from Sharia in their homelands and if they wanted to live under Sharia they wouldn't have come to the US in the first place. Secondly, the use of religious law in anything but alternative dispute resolution blatantly violates the Constitution.
