Good post! Whenever I posted my Libertarian Socialist ideology in other forums, many posters just labeled me a Socialist, a Communist, or a Far Left Moonbat. I want to reveal I'm a Libertarian Socialist, but it's difficult, so I settle for stating I'm a Left Libertarian. Perhaps, I should stop doing this.
Is your socialism voluntary or forced? I have long called myself a voluntary socialist.

I would urge you to carry the libertarian socialist banner with pride! Let others figure it out for themselves.
Most of the people who throw around the term "socialist" don't have the slightest idea of what it means. They simply recognize the dramatic baggage associated with the word.
Just look at all the tea-bagger idiots who call Obama a socialist. The president has surrounded himself with Wall Street stooges, supported the pursuit of wars which benefit America's corporate culture, and overseen an economy which has further-enriched the wealthy. All of this while the working class and middle class have been driven into economic despair. This is a socialist?
Libertarian socialism is about control of the common people by their own authority---not by the authority of the state, politicians, capitalists, or theologians. It is about workers themselves, as opposed to the political state or private interests, owning the means of production. It is about making decisions through legitimate democratic action rather than through the corruption of hierarchical political structures.
Right-libertarians: Fred Thompson, Rush Limbaugh,
Left-libertarians: Jon Stewart, Al Franken
There isn't a libertarian bone in Rush Limbaughs body. And probably not Al Franken or Fred Thompson's either. But definitely not Limbaugh. That's absurd.

It depends on what your goal is, if you want to persuade people you would want to use the words and phrases they are familiar with. If your goal is to engage is left/right partisan bickering than use what ever you want.

We think alike!
I like that you list who the authoritarians are and that it's not just the state. In my eyes, corporations are just as bad as the state, and the fact they're bedfellows make things even worse.
As for the Tea Party, I don't have issues will them. I don't agree with most of their ideas, but it's okay for them to protest and speak up, it's their right.
In fact, I'm a Libertarian who opposes private property.
Then you are not a Libertarian. That's like a tiger without stripes telling everyone he is a tiger or a thief telling people he doesn't believe in stealing.
You cannot be a Libertarian if you oppose private property.
Left Libertarianism is nothing but socialism. It is an abomination of the Libertarian philosophy.
And just because somebody writes about it in Wikipedia doesn't make it true.
