Our government hiding facts to protect a corporation. How unexpected, isn't this the way fascist Governments work?

Government tightens lid on dolphin death probe - WHNT (http://www.whnt.com/sns-rt-usreport-us-dolphintre72o3jo-20110325,0,3622936.story - broken link)

BILOXI, Mississippi (Reuters) - The U.S. government is keeping a tight lid on its probe into scores of unexplained dolphin deaths along the Gulf Coast, possibly connected to last year's BP oil spill, causing tension with some independent marine scientists.

Wildlife biologists contracted by the National Marine Fisheries Service to document spikes in dolphin mortality and to collect specimens and tissue samples for the agency were quietly ordered late last month to keep their findings confidential.

The gag order was contained in an agency letter informing outside scientists that its review of the dolphin die-off, classified as an "unusual mortality event (UME)," had been folded into a federal criminal investigation launched last summer into the oil spill.

"Because of the seriousness of the legal case, no data or findings may be released, presented or discussed outside the UME investigative team without prior approval," the letter, obtained by Reuters, stated.

A number of scientists said they have been personally rebuked by federal officials for "speaking out of turn" to the media about efforts to determine the cause of some 200 dolphin deaths this year, and about 90 others last year, in the Gulf.

No surprise. The dangers of the BP spill are still very real and the Obama administration is covering it up. Obama's empty suit is made of Teflon.

IIRC the government hasn't exactly been forthcoming about dolphin and whale deaths attributed to military sonar radar testing either.

Bad news can't get out. Folks haven't figure that out yet ?
I'm surprised they didn't blame it on global warming or firecrackers yet.

Boy 18 views? Where are all the Tea Party members who are so worried about our children's future because of the debt that Bush help bury us by invading two countries looking for Muslims gang members? Where are the liberals who are sticking up for public union teachers because of the children? BP poisoned the Gulf and now we have radiation readings in Boston. Mean while both events are being ignored and swept under the rug by the so called Liberal media. It seems to me most don't really care about the children and only worry about what affects their own pockets and their own agendas.

Well this was bound to happen. What do you think digesting large amounts of oil is good for you? BP can't pay all of its dues. If it did it would be bankrupt and then the government would be responsible for the rest. Because it was all the government's fault anyway.

This is not exactly bad news that the government cared to much for. There are things that would more than likely hamper the image of the government than this.

Nice, seems to me Rita thinks killing animals and humans is A OK in her book. You don't mind that the government lies to protect corporations and puts profits ahead of life. What kind of person are you?
