*** REPORTER CONFINED IN CLOSET DURING VEEP'S FUNDRAISER ***

Sat March 26 2011 17:04:37 EDT

Staffers with Vice President Joe Biden confined an Orlando Sentinel reporter in a closet this week to keep him from mingling with high-powered guests gathered for a Democratic fundraiser.

The guy is lucky they even let him in. Most fundraising events in private homes do not allow reporters.

I like the title of your thread, but the story does not match.

Obama has started to repeat this sort of thing for 2012:

Top White House Official Says Obama Team 'Controlled' Media Coverage During Campaign - FoxNews.com

Quote:
The Obama campaign's press strategy leading up to his election last November focused on "making" the media cover what the campaign wanted and on exercising absolute "control" over coverage, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told an overseas crowd early this year.

OMG! I quickly debunked that one

Waiting for Joe and Bill – Central Florida Political Pulse – Orlando Sentinel

Wow, is my time in the closet getting legs on the blogosphere. I had no idea.
Let me clarify a few points.
1. It was frustrating and annoying that I was not given a chance to do my job fully and properly. I was allowed to come out long enough to listen to the remarks, but not to talk with anyone, a point reported a couple times later on this blog.

Although a cherished right of the people, freedom of the press is different from other liberties of the people in that it is both individual and institutional. It applies not just to a single person's right to publish ideas, but also to the right of print and broadcast media to express political views and to cover and publish news.
The Vice-President is not a private citizen. He works for me and you.

The media has no right to be in a private citizen's home unless allowed by the homeowner.
