In the 60's I had ADHD, although it was not called that. It was called being a kid.
My mom & dad cured it, with a good nip in the bud to get my attention and to pay attention.
I hardly ever agree with you on anything.
However, in this instance, I have a similar observation.
As a child during the 60's, I attended a private school that was run by nuns. It was not unusual to have "crowded" classrooms with at least 40 students in each classroom and ONE nun. There were no assistants, aides, etc. unless of course you count "Violet", the nun's yardstick.
Nobody, but nobody had ADHD. We did not eat processed food. Our meals were freshly made. We drank water or milk. That's it.
Which makes me wonder if all the crap that they put in food nowadays has something to do with today's high incidence of ADHD.
So if health care wasn't private this problem would be solved?
If anything with public health care things would be so overcrowded that doctors would be MORE likely to give you drugs and get you out of their offices quick.
Drugs are good when administered to patients with huge profit to the big drug companys. ask your doctor how many of these drugs are right for you? dozens I am sure, If you have great insurance go for it and watch your liver rot
Oh sheee it is that why they test me that one test every year? Really my liver will rot? And here I thought my doctor was keeping good watch over me.

I agree with your question but I also think that Old Violet would stop a lot of that stuff before it got started. Oh yes, as a junior high principal in the late 60s I found my old fraternity paddle to be a strong behavior moderator on a number of boys that needed its help.
