Agreed. According to Turbo Tax my income placed me in a very low percentile of my tax bracket, yet I paid way more than the reported national average and STILL owed a lot more money. This is after deducting things like ludicrous amounts of student loan interest and lots of charitable donations.

Grrr. Argh.

We have to limit the power of the Chamber of Commerce.

Democrats, Republicans, their all chambercrats now.

Yup.

Plus interest rates go up, and interest rates go down.... I don't know if there is a 40 year timeframe where the average bank interest rate over it was 0.5%.

Because the middle class guy has little power. Not rich enough to create/change laws and not disadvantaged enough to be noticed.

From my experience, most people like this are pretty satisfied. They tend to focus on what's important in life, like their family and being a good person. A person who makes more money isn't necessarily more satisfied and living a carefree life. However, if this person wishes for more financially, he can still take steps to alter his circumstances.

Lightbulb Why are good, honest people continually crapped on in this damn country?

1. America is owned and controlled by corporations.

2. Corporations are controlled by wealthy executives.

3. The less paid to workers, the more is paid in executive bonuses.

The bottom line: corporations and billionaires can hire armies of lobbyists and pay out millions in campaign contributions to get favorable treatment. And they do this daily, 24/7.

America puts god on its money for the obvious reason.

How much can good, honest, working stiffs pay out to protect their interests?

I'm sorry but if you put your money in the bank to earn .5% interest.. you may be getting crapped on, but this is because you put yourself in the toilet, and opened up your mouth wide shouting.. FEED ME!!!

Sounds like a fiscal conservative to me.

I blame it all on liberal ideology. Every bit of it. Sure, there are valid arguments that conservatives have contributed to some of the nation's sins, but overall, it's the "free love for all, no matter the cost, no matter the consequence" brand of liberal ideology that has led to this nation robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Blame it on the liberals.

that guy you speak of could afford the home they bought, until the bank tripled or more his interest rates.

For the record. that guy lost his home and ended with nothing. the banks got bailed out, took over the homes, and sold them not counting the interest they got for the years in between. they made out like bandits and you blame the guy who lost his home.

Wow I thought it was Robin Hood, not Robbing the hood. Banks have stolen peoples homes by their practices and people blame the victims. There are some pretty smart , well educated people that have been caught in this. I just looked in central FL MLS and can tell you 8 people with homes over $3,000,000 are in short sale or foreclosure.

94 fall in the $1M -$3M
and 434 fall in the $500-1M ranges.

These are not stupid people, these are not the poor, nor uneducated.

These issues strike across all class barriers. Even the haves are becoming the have nots.

I can sell you a home, brand new, 12,000 sq ft, on a lake for around 2M from its original 12m price. The home is stunning. the owner a Doctor. Still want to blame the people?

I could site 100's of examples where it isn't the case.

Welcome to capitalism. The way you put it, socialism is starting to sound better and better.

I have a suspicion that the same people who complain about this stuff would also complain about higher taxes under a socialist policy.
