A tilt towards bi-partisanship??? Maybe it's the beginning of a trend. Haven't we all had enough of the chest beating and photo-ops?

House Republican leaders turn to moderate Democrats for budget deal

Having difficulty finding consensus within their own ranks, House Republican leaders have begun courting moderate Democrats on several key fiscal issues, including a deal to avoid a government shutdown at the end of next week.

Why not?
Both parties spend like hell, it's natural they would want to team up to continue the spree.

Yes!
The Progressive side of the middle is still Progressive(baby steps to socialism, instead of big leaps as seen in the last two years). The entire problem with this nation.

We have tried the Progressive experiment for the last 100 years.
It has taken us from the greatest on earth, down to or below the rest of the world.

Who is learning from the mistakes?
Who is perpetuating the mistakes over and over and expecting different results?

It will be interesting to see if boehner accepts the outreached democrat hand to cut spending, or run to the far right and stand behind the tea party radicals that want to shut down the government.

As usual you have it backwards. From the article,"House Republican leaders have begun courting moderate Democrat".

It is the repubs reaching out to the dems, not the dems reaching out to the repubs as you misstate.

What a surprise.

As usual you have it wrong again seeing only what you want to see.

from the same article, "On top of the $10 billion in savings, Democrats are willing to offer an additional $20 billion in spending cuts. But they said they will not do so until they are assured that it would get them close to an agreement."

The democrats want to keep things fair and want cuts from both sides. The republicans want to make some cuts mostly only to democrat plans.
The democrats want to bring out the chainsaw to the outrageous military spending, the right said no.
The democrats are willing to give up emergency energy assistance and other low income assistance in exchange for the republicans to slice corporate hand outs which Boehner so far has refused and why we are at a stand still.
