I am still amazed how otherwise intelligent people can actually believe the loony 9/11 conspiracy, which would have involved hundreds of people and would have been nearly impossible to keep secret.
So tell me, do you also believe that the Pentagon was not hit by an airplane, but by a satellite-guided missile? Even though some of the passengers on the plane which actually hit the Pentagon have been identified, including well-known author Barbara Olsen. In order to believe the ridiculous claim that it wasn't a plane which hit the Pentagon, you have to believe that all of the passengers are being kept somewhere, like in a government-owned concentration camp. (Cuckoo!)
Or you would have to believe that flight 93 (the one in Pennsylvania) was hit by a heat-seeking missile.
Even if the planes could have demolished the twin towers in the short space of time that they did, blacksmiths could not do it in that time, what about the third tower that did not get hit but collapsed much later in the same spectacular fashion?
The Bush administration functions in secrecy. They have much to hide. Why are the political affairs of Cheney being kept secret? Why did Cheney accompany Bush to a questioning (not under oath) about 9/11? Why were air traffic controller's data from 9/11 destroyed? This administration has operated more in the shadows than any other US government. They are not incompetent, nor insane, but they know exactly what they are doing. Which is why they keep it all secret.
Police states don't happen overnight, they are put together piece by piece.
From reading the previous posts it seems that many are wary of the Bush administration. And also the gullible who believe everything the administration tells them.
Has anyone seen the George Orwell novel "1984" made into a film. It's the British b/w film from 1955, starring Edmund O'Brian. It stuck very close to the novel in depicting a police state. Oddly enough, the copyright has been bought years ago and, obviously buried. That version of 1984 is not available anywhere, neither in video nor as a DVD.

I dont like the bush administration. they have managed to NOT do what the normal american public would like, securing our boarders, and the cluster#^$% in Iraq, by not putting enough troops and getting the job done.

As your link correctly states, steel does not have to melt in order for a building to collapse. It just has to be weakened to the point where it can't support the weight of the building.

exactly, there is also a bridge that collapsed. the reason? while constructing the bridge, there was a small coupling that connected a tension cable to the road deck. the damage included a little of the anti corosion paint to be scraped, the part rusted just a little for this 4" peice to have its structural integrity interupted, the result was a hand full of people dead.

Building 7 at the WTC, steel and constructed differently from the twin towers, fell at 5:30.It was not hit by an airplane and had no apparent significant fire.
Why did this building fall?

this makes alot of sense, having steel beams at such a large span and spacing, with a moderate fire would weaken the steel, and start the collapse. There was a significant fire in a small corner of the building.
Understanding some of the structural jargon in the pdf might be a hard thing unless you deal with structural stuff all day (i design homes and commercial buildings)
its very likely that building 7 did have the same apparent cause as the two towers. Structural steel at larger than needed spans leads to very heavy loads on that steel, weakening it by fire would then allow the steel to essentialy break, or buckle under the loads of the floor above, and thus an implosion.
