Republican Gov. Jan Brewer proposed the idea as part of a broader plan to raise money that would allow the state to offset recent cuts she engineered to its Medicaid program. If ratified, the measure would revive coverage of organ transplants, which Arizona limited last year as a way to save money. It would also reduce the number of childless adults disqualified from Medicaid to 135,000, compared with the original proposal of 250,000.
More nanny state government from Republicans. Why not also include riding a motorcycle, crossing a street, living in a bad neighborhood, those working hazardous jobs, those who drink wine & beer, horseback riders, sports players, and so on. Like anybody couldn't see this coming, sooner or later.
I'd have to ask the same question I've asked since the health Nazi's went after smokers: Where does it end? Just about ANY activity can be deemed to be "unhealthy" or "unsafe," so at what point do we stop this relentless assault on individual liberty in the name of "health?"

Giving all people health coverage is not a waste of money. Let's stop wasting money on business tax cuts and perhaps the states would not be having such a revenue issue.

Just cause it's not your view of economics, doesn't mean it's wrong. You obvious support trickle-down theories, and I believe a different one. We'll give it till 2012 to see how your gang does but after 8 years of cutting taxes under the last administration, this recession is proof positive of what happens when your forsake the middle class income earners.
