No state is supposed to be doing that. Like I said, if you got one and aren't a citizen, you broke the law. Well, you're in California, they don't care out there.

Oh, no I didn't. At that point, I traded in a PA license. DH traded his Nebraska license for an IL license. When we got our licenses, I don't think you needed a BC.

Your link says
Gessler compared those residents that showed a work visa or similar document against the state’s voter rolls to identify potential non-citizens registered using a state-issued identification card.

Neither a work visa, or similar document would authorize someone to VOTE..

Thats not at all true..
You have to be here LEGALLY.. but being here legally does not give you permission to vote. non citizens can indeed get a drivers license provided they have a work permit or some other authorization to be here..

its Conservatives trying to change the law to stop illegal from getting a license.. Progressives are fighting the change saying its not fair, that even if you are here illegally, you should be allowed to drive.

The thread title is untrue. They didn't find any voter fraud.

Gessler is a dipstick, BTW.

You had to show one when you got your original license.

For someone who feels so strongly about these matters, you sure don't know much about them. Legal residents not only can get Driver's Licenses, they are obliged to - if they want to drive, that is. And yes, this goes for all 50 states.

Legal residency is a requirement. Citizenship is not.

So you think you know more than the Secretary of State, the very same person you quoted earlier in this thread to defend your position?

“Fact is, my office has every reason to believe that thousands of non-citizens are registered to vote in Colorado,” Gessler said. “Though the opponents of this bill want us to look the other way or bury our heads in the sand, House Bill 1252 will allow us to inquire for more information using public databases.”

Of course now you will come back and say he doesnt matter when a minute ago you used him as a source because he wouldnt prosecute..

So out of the potential 5000 that voted you don't think one of them might be fraudulent? Even one vote that is a fraud is too many especially when you're looking at local elections where one vote can make a difference.
