Ok then medicaid. We have friends who live in northern Ca. Their adult daughter is giving birth to her second (3rd pregnancy) welfare baby soon. The first was still born and it was sad. She went out and immediately gets beaned again and that baby premature costing the tax payers over a million. This baby is on the taxpayers dime as well. Aint life a bowl of cherries people? We paid cash for our first two and were fortunate to have insurance for the 3rd baby. This young woman is married, husband has a job, she just graduated from university with a B.A....maybe should be a BS instead. I am tired and this system should be vetting the fat asses on the couch and putting them in with family and giving only to the ones who need it the most. Mexico can take care of Mexico. We are coming to the fork in the road now and some tough cuts need to be made.

Social Security would be fine if they would remove the cap from the wage tax

When they gut medicaid about half of the elderly in Nursing Homes will be out in the street

How many Hospitals will collapse without Medicare?

House GOP budget to call for big changes to Medicare, Medicaid - CNN.com#

Guess we've been shelling all of our hard earned money into these programs for nothing...according to the Republicans, anyways.

Didn't take long for the Dems B.S. machine to kick in.

There's always money for banksters, bombs, missiles, fat cats, corporate kickbacks, pork barrel spending, and myriad of other stupid spending. But when it comes to actually helping the elderly and poor there's no money. Oh don't forget about education, nope sorry we can't afford an educated, healthy society. But perpetual war, hell yeah we can always afford that!
You know, I agree and we should be asking Obama this very question. Why the hell did our federal government give Fed funds by the millions to Libya last year and then bomb the hell out of them? Good damn question. And as far as corporate kickbacks, let us ask Obama why GE paid 0 dollars in taxes when it made billions last year and was one of his biggest donators to his campaign, same with GM and why is Obama granting so many huge salaries on Wall St? Ask him will ya?

And the democrats are? How so? Have you seen the inner cities lately? Just drive through Detroit and you will find the answer to the question. How is bankrupting the country helping the poor? The GOP isnt writing the checks right now, Obama is and has been for the last two years. And again, why, oh why are we giving our money to Libya and other terrorist countries? Should we not be insisting that these funds shore up your program?

Have not the cries of the left been all about how much money doctors make and hospitals? Let them eat bread along with the rest of us while we enter this brave new socialized world. Should doctors not get a simple living wage like the rest of us? Isnt this the goal? Bravo Obamatrons you win but the pain seems to be trickling down to the masses. Just wait till the college professors get $11 an hour.

You nailed it with that one! Yes, you have been paying into a program that you will never see a return on your money. SS is a pyramid scheme where are you pay money in to pay for those currently on the program. Your money is never invested nor makes any return on investment whatsoever.

Now, had you invested the money you sent of the the government for SS even with the recent crash you would be able to comfortably live on the interest.

If you invested $3,000.00 per year of what you normally would have paid into SS and received a return on the average of 6% for 30 years at a 15% tax rate and 3% inflation you would have around 1 million dollars at retirement.

You will NEVER see that amount of money in SS payments because your payments are paying for folks in the program today.

We could argue about the market crash but those folks within retirement range should have had their monies in low risk investments. Even so, markets recover as they are trying to do now so monies lost are almost always returned unless you were into high risk investments.

The bottom line is that people now a days look to the government to take care of them and I hope, with the recent crash, people will begin to change the way they see the government and begin to take care of themselves.

Its estimated that illegals cost anywere from 150 to 300 billions a yr to this country....Get rid of the illegals and you have enough money for all these programs.
Its all inter-twinded.

Foreign aid..... gone!
Illegals.... gone!
Paying farmers NOT to farm.....gone!
Cutting Welfare/Food stamps to those who are milking the system....gone
Medicare/Medicade fraud fix!

We have enough money but our priorites are FKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKed up!

Basically it is a decision to not pay back the debt the government owes its citizens. It will indeed reduce national debt because 80% of the debt it owed back to the taxpayer in form of medicaid and SS. So, by deciding to not pay it, the amount can be removed from the figure immediately, and the politicians can reap the credit for the reduction. The only problem is that it is theft. You can't simply collect money then then declare that you are not going to pay back. I was an idiot voting for these people.
