Small apartments... ... I don't think they come much smaller than the set of low income trailers just outside the city limits where I live. Got several hundred people living rather meager American lives over there. You have more Americans living and dying like Bangladeshi citizens than there are in Bangladesh. Are you proud of this? You would like to see the number of such people double in your lifetime? Do you think that would be a good thing? Do you?
I suppose the name Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics meant nothing? CHINA never claimed to be socialist. Soviet Russia has always claimed it.

How long have you been in the Pacific Northwest? You may not be aware that all those desperate coastal trailer park communities were thriving just 30 years ago till socialist policies decimated their economies. But yes, the owls and weeds are now safe because the people have nothing to do but sit in their dilapidated trailers counting raindrops and waiting for the welfare check so they can buy some more drugs to take the sting out of their hopeless existence.

I'll bet you're not even aware that many if not most of your recent low-income Portland residents are exiles of the Socialist stronghold of San Francisco. One of the dirty little secrets in the gleaming city of SF is that they've been busing their disenfranchised to Portland for years. The Liberal poster child/GQ model Mayor Newsom has even stepped up the policy to make the Streets of San Francisco more palatable for the tourist trade.

In American socialist cities they hide their failures by shipping them elsewhere while conversely, Socialist and Communist states like China and Russia use the more cost effective labor camps and mass graves to hide theirs.

I used to think like that too but I am someone who likes to look at the root cause and effects of actions.

You know they tried to pull this in the State of Oregon and retroactively tax businesses. The businesses packed up and moved out. Who is paying the taxes now?

Arizona put on a tough imigration law and guess what, they moved out.

Ok, so if you were very "Successful", you say Rich, and the government was going to take most of your profits would you stay?

So you leave, then now who is left to pay taxes? The Medium sucessful? or the almost rich? okay but now since the very "Rich" are gone you need to tax these folks even more so then they leave.

What is left? A country that looks like Detroit along with hyper inflation.

No, what we need is LESS taxing and LESS regulation. Remember, those who are making up the regulations are part of the problem. They making it more difficult for competition and for new start-ups to come online. For crying out loud I heard the FDA stopped some little girl from selling lemonade!

So those of you who want to take more money from those who are sucessful to provide free crap like cellphones, healthcare, education, birth control etc for those who refuse to pick up a freaking book and learn something, well why don't you reach into YOUR pocket and donate to them?

I consider myself sucessful do to my efforts. I already give WAY more money to the government than YOU do. My healthcare is 10 fold because YOU dont pay your medical bills. So and I am tired of those lazy people expecting free freaking handouts telling the government to reach deeper into my pocket!

They won't use it because having babies is exactly what keeps the government handouts coming. Many come here for the purpose of getting welfare by coming here to give birth, and giving birth here is now how they intend to get around the immigration laws.

The fact is, people from other countries that have less than an 8th grade education but sky high birth rates are not coming because they intend to be self-reliant and work to support their extra large families. It's not easy for an American citizen with a high school diploma to support a family in this country.

They won't use birth control. Having fewer children cuts down on the government freebies and 'entitlements' they're getting.

The liberals have grown an unsustainable underclass. It gives them guaranteed votes, but they didn't think it through far enough to where we are now: we can no longer afford to provide for the dependent class they've created and grown exponentially.

I think the government should implement moderate tax increases on the rich. Because I have read that many major corporations do not pay taxes at all, but they make big time profits. This can add to some source of revenue.

Their should be some social programs but make them more efficient w/o fraud so it can be less wasteful.
The government can probably save plenty of money and gain needed revenue with efficient monetary distribution systems. But The government shouldn't take away education assistance for low income individuals because that will never give them a chance in economically. Pell grants help countless low income individuals with their education. And make social programs more tougher on the individual. I know people who been on housing all their lives. This is an example of wasteful and weak codes that contribute to wasteful spending. With tougher codes this can lesson social programs and "freebies"[as many of you call it] to a certain extent

And The government should also halt its spending limit. We cannot afford to continue to have such large deficits in our budget. But that doesn't mean massively cutting education assistance or health assistance.

I just wish a candiate was in the middle
