Since the GOP hijacked the Tea Party it has looked and sound more like the Reform Party, I am curious if many Tea Partiers were in the Reform Party.
Probably very few. I know a handful of people who voted for Perot, they are certainly not Tea Party types. Many Perot supporters were or are independants. They may be looking for a new party, would love to see the 2 party system gone, many are libatarians, but certainly not Tea Partiers. Again, I am talking about overall, not a few individuals.

Nita
It just seems that many of them are very populist, sure they want smaller government expect for when it comes to illegal immigrants and other social issues. The Perot voters I know were similar, except they were bigger protectionists. I can see the Tea Party moving that way very easily though.
That may be part of the problem. The RP came about in the early 90's around Ross Perot who ran for Pres in 92 and 96. The current Tea Party seems very similar in how they continue to evolve with a hodgepodge of issues.
"In February 2010, former Reform Party Chairman Pat Choate emerged to discuss the appeal of the Tea Party movement, contrasting it with Ross Perot's party, saying: "The difference with the Tea Party is it's been heavily pushed by a bunch of talk-show conservatives. You have the Republican Party attempting to use this as a means to pull independents or conservative independents to their policies, to their agenda."
Both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party are filled with and run by career politicians. Both say and do whatever it takes to get elected and re-elected. The Tea Party has tried to focus on real issues and real solutions that will put the country back on sound footing, regardless of any other party affiliation.

So why do the fawn over Sarah Palin and other establishment republicans?
I'll bet Tea Partiers were part of Falwell's Christian Right.
