3. The point is that people on the left are very quick to point things out as some new outrageous behavior that the Bush administration created, while the hero of the democratic party (Clinton) used the same tactic. Is that poor memory, selective attention or rationalization, or is it being hypocritical?

Once home, does his wife have to remind him who she is? Maybe he has forgotten that he has a wife. Maybe he even asks himself, what's this strange woman doing in my house?
In the morning, during breakfast, his wife may wish him a good day at his job. Could it be that Mr Gonzales gives her a bewildered look and asks, "Job? What job?"
"You're the Attorney General, honey!" she replies.
"Hmmm", he looks at her thoughtfully, "Attorney General...that rings a bell. I've heard that title before. Well, if you write down the address where this job is, I'll go there!"
Daily life must be very hard for people who don't remember. You think you have problems orienting in strange airports between flights? Mr Gonzales has it much worse, he wouldn't even know why he's there. Or parking at the mall, someone with bad memory could wander around the lot for days trying to find his car.
Being Attorney General of the United States is a job with important responsibilities. Maybe poor Mr Gonzales should be relieved of this overwhelming burden and given a more simple assignment, such as weaving baskets.
I am a Cnservative and I want Gonzalez OUT. This guy is a moron, a La Raza-style supporter of open borders and an enemy of law-abiding gun owners.

Hell with Gonzalez. I'd charge with treason, strip him of his citizenship, and ship him and Presidente Jorge Busho both to Mexico, since that is the country they want the USA to be.

I'm more conservative than anything else, but am fairly central and want Gonzalez and Bush/Cheney out, and there is quiet a long list of Republican and Democratic Congress members I want out as well, to the point I think we should be kicking all of those crooked basturds out and starting from scratch!

The I don't know's isn't why he lost his license.

1.The tactic may have been originated by, it was certainly used prior to Clinton by, that darling of the Republican Party Ronnie RayGun who after commiting the treasonous act of selling weapons to an enemy defended himself with: "Well, I don't remember"

2. The thread is about Alberto, Clinton could have had sex with 37 different dwarf Albanian hookers every night of his presidency, that has no bearing on the honesty(or lack of) that Alberto displays or the refusal of administration members to answer subpoenas aimed at uncovering facts, those silly little things that seem to be optional in BushWorld.

It was also used by Ollie North. I'm not disagreeing with your point about Alberto. My point is about the selective outrage.

Clinton lost his law license because he lied under oath. If it can be proven our AG lied under oath his law license should go as well.

The selection can't be helped, when it's the AG who's implicated Alberto's the only one we've got If there's really been no wrong doing then it'a easily solved by the staffers answering subpoenas and testifying under oath and then we can be outraged that it's a democratic witch hunt.

You really think that there is a way to prove that at the moment the question was asked, he really did remember the answer?

I'm not sure exactly who, what, or when you're referring to but I think that none of these political hearings take place without warning. Regardless of the affiliations of the accusers or the accused I'm sure there are staff members whose only duties involve preparing briefs and coaching the participants, this isn't Mayberry Municipal Court deciding an overtime parking ticket

I agree. I'm just wondering how someone is prosecuted for saying they do not remember something. They may have remembered it before and during a briefing, but when asked, "hey, I was under a lot of pressure and drew a blank when you asked." I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that would be a tough prosecution which I suspect is why people get away with it.
