I fail to see why this is political, but I wouldn't vote for either mother or boyfriend. Controversy? I don't think anyone will endorse body slamming a toddler.

It's a controversy because the mother has only been charged with child neglect, which is rather mild considering her crimes. We see this sort of leniency toward criminals a lot in our society.

What crimes as she been convicted of?

What should she have been charged with? Since I'm not a legal professional or scholar perhaps you can cite the laws so I can see why she should have been charged

I would say Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Neglect, and Conspiracy Aggravated Assault/Attempted Murder.

Those would be the charges I would go for if prosecuting her. I don't think I'd have a hard time getting a conviction.

I actually was knocked out momentarily by a baseball bat when I was a kid
