Anyone want to place bets on how long before the Eiffel Tower gets bombed? And we can also place bets on how quickly the loony left rushes to the defense of the islamo-jihadists for doing so. After all, France is offending them, what else are they supposed to do??

Just what are you talking about?

You stated: What I do find hilarious is liberals first attacking Bush for not finding WMD in iraq, then scoffing at his reasoning for going there about helping iraqis build a better country, then the liberals claiming we cannot bring democracy to them and that they have their own customs, and then finally demanding we do EXACTLY that in Libya.

I must've missed it, just where have liberals been demanding we do this in Libya?

Well we're not allowed to walk around naked so yes, I think clothing standards can be enforced here as well.

What's hilarious is that the politically correct always like to point out Turkey as the example of an Islamic state that is tolerant and fairly open -- yet everyone knows that Ataturk was smart and put some controls on Islam including a law forbidding the burkas and veils.

The only reason Turkey has a somewhat reasonable form of Islam is all due to Ataturk understanding it's dangerous nature.

Read the news lately? The UN passed a no fly zone resolution, as did the arab league...

Turkey today is nowhere near a democracy; it has terrible human rights abuses, used chemical weapons on the kurds last year, is illegally occupying Cyprus, its gov't officials are limiting the freedom of the press, the list goes on and on.

Turkey is no democracy...

You alleged liberals were demanding we bring democracy to Libya.

WHERE?

The UN/arab league passing a no fly zone is nothing of the sort.

Covering one's "assets" has nothing to do with male superiority. It has everything to do with the concept of modesty, which perhaps some of the women in France would do well to emulate.

BARING bad news

If it were "everything to do with the concept of modesty," muslim women in Islamic countries would have had a choice whether to cover their heads/faces/bodies/ or not. Since it's obviously not a case, of course it's all about male superiority, which is clearly stated in Koran.

The burka is a symbol. In places where it is mandated the complete degredation of women is also legally enshrined into law. Muslim nations have some of the most sexist laws imaginable. In many Muslim countries a woman's testimony is literally only valued at half that of a man's in court. In many Muslim nations women are simply not allowed their full humanity.

Bravo to the French for sending a message that if Muslims immigrate to western nations the sexism that they may bring with them will be not be tolerated.
