what do japanese American have to do with the quote?
FDR was responsible for Japanese American internment while scrupulously guarding the civil rights and civil liberties of all citizens. Isn't it kind of hypocritical?
not at all, we were at war and FDR created an exclusion zone for national security reasons. the enemy was just off shore, you know.

But I think his quote accurately depicts one of the major downsides of socialism. Maybe it was not done out of socialist ideals or at least the perpetrators did not realize they were furthering socialist ideals.
The socialist mindset believes that the good of the state comes first, before the individual, and they would cast off the nonproductive leeches who are dragging down the rest. Socialist/Communist governments are responsible for the deaths of millions of people, who were deemed to be a drag on their socialist society. Stalin would not transfer wealth to throngs of unproductive lay-abouts, who contributed nothing.

does it count if the uber wealthy "invite" the poor to wait on them during the banquet? LOL
