I agree...Since when does our constitution cater to peoples' feelings...You can't regulate what people think and feel just because you disagree...that isn't freedom...Thanks for pointing out the truth, too many people think getting along and having peace with everyone on the planet is the definition of freedom these days..They need to go back and study the history of how we became the free nation we have been..I say have been because bs like this Kobe story and the way people want him to not say certain words are leading us straight down the road to losing our first amendment rights....it's not about emotions it's about freedom people

Since the other guy didn't answer, I'll ask you and maybe get a response: If you called one of your co-workers a "****ing f*gg*t" in front of witnesses, would you be in trouble?

I know in my workplace it would be a huge issue and I'd likely get fired for it.

How on earth do you make this a 1st amendment issue? So, can I make racial slurs at work and just claim freedom of speech and everything's OK?

What does this have to do with the thread topic. It's about the NBA reigning in overpaid players who think they can get away with anything.....including insulting a referee.

And how GLADD is working with the league to stop gay slurs and homophobia. Kobe has an employer he must "answer to" just like everyone else....your constitutional argument makes no sense in this situation.

The rest of your post is IMHO....just "stuff and nonsense" from a very paranoid and apparently guilt ridden psyche.

FYI - Freedom of Speech does not apply to anything but the Government. The NBA can infringe on speech as much as they want.

Oh please. Any idiot knows this is just PR, too little too late. Where was the NBA before this? Kids aren't going to remember anything from here on in, just the fact that he said it and probably thought it was funny because ESPN made such a big deal about it. Anyone can see through this. This is about the NBA and Lakers trying to save face and GLAAD making a few $$$.

Especially when it hurts the NBA's image and it's economic bottom line.
