Both have done bad, but the KKK has overall done worse.
The Black Panthers were for creating new a new nation in the Southern United States, reparations, and etc all to avoid the racism towards African Americans. They weren't going around starting trouble for the h-e-l-l of it (and trust me they were h-e-l-l raisers) but for a purpose of being noticed by the US Govt & hopefully ceding from the US and to help thier race. But they also believed the white man was the devil. smh I'm not condoning their actions as positive but they probably helped someway with the Civil Rights Movement.
The Klan on the other hand seemed to want exterminate anyone who wasn't considered to be white, at least from what I understand. I don't mean to mix the Klan with Confederate lovers but they go hand and hand. The Klan/Confederacy Lovers also wanted to ceded from the US in order to keep thier kind away from other races but because that didn't work they decided to kill African Americans for the h-e-l-l of it, in hope to drive them away. It worked in someways because many African Americans moved to cities such as Chicago, NYC, Philly, Baltimore during the 60's.
So both are terrible, but I believe The Black Panthers had better intentions with what they did although everything didn't necessarily turn out the way they wanted it either.
Why are the Black Panthers Terrible? If your people are getting murdered by police for being of a particular race, they have no reason to be pissed off? That combined with all the institutionalized racism that was going on at the time? Yet they are terrible? The Black Panthers were to protect Blacks from the onslaught of racist behavior at the time. Nothing terrible about that. Try being in a Black persons shoes in the 1960s. They served a purpose.
They equally share in the wrong views that most Americans can agree with. They both equal hated, and think they are surpreme, they both do not share the views that most of us can agree with, and equally they deserve the same score!
The color does not make a difference at all? their message does, and it is not the message most of us agree with.
I always have a hard time accepting the way white people (I am white, Irish Catholic) have such a hard time accepting the undeniable fact that blacks in this country suffered in a way that no other group , except Native Americans, suffered in terms of denial of rights from slavery up until at least the 1970s (I personally believe that , despite undeniable progress, there remain many personal and institutional biases against blacks, greater than against any other group of American citizens, and the comments of many on this thread prove it). I paricularly get upset at my Irish Catholic brethren who get upset at this idea when we complained bitterly about similar treatment for our forefathers in Ireland which while terribe did not last as long and in reality were never as outrageous as the situation of blacks in this country. If the Irish had contnued to suffer in this country the type of prejudice that greeted them in the 1840s I think it is likely we would have had our own version of the IRA because they wouldn't be likely to take that kind of treatment. Remeber the Molly Maguires!
The KKKL was far worse because not only its actions over the years were so much more egregious but because it had an influence on the locales where it was present that was pervasive and destructive. And of course, it did not reserve its hatred for blacks only but included Catholics, Jews, communists (i.e. anyone who wanted to promote equality) and gays. I would say the KKK was far worse. It is not what it once was, otr does it only go under differnt names.
And the New Black Panthers is a joke, stirred up into a controversy by the isolated acts of a couple of guys in Philadelphia and the blowhardas on Fox News

You gotta love these kinds of questions, from the people that brought us "who is was worse Hitler or Stalin?"
Assuming that both organizations are equally "evil" the simple fact is that at least historically the Klan has had way more members and had a much larger influence on their communities.
The black panthers (at least to my knowledge) were most active in urban (non-white) areas and their effects were largely confined to those locations.
As for today's Klan and Black Panthers, I honestly have no idea what they are up to. I remember the Klan trying to get a highway sponsoring sign and the Panthers trying to put a bounty on George Zimmerman.
Either way these are both fringe groups that get more attention than they warrant.

The KKK are apart of the Majority, infiltrating the police, government and everything else of the time. So you're telling me that the Black Panthers were a viable threat to teh 200+ Million Whites in America when Most of 1960s White America was anti Black? Do you not see the difference between a hate group hating for the sake of pseudo white perseverance vs. the Black Panthers tired of the community being attacked based ONLY on the color of their skin. You expect people to get beat down and not retaliate? Try getting punched in the face over and over and not rebelling.

I think people in this thread are getting the Panther Party confused with the Nation of Islam.
