Maybe they don't live off welfare which of course would make them poorer than some other groups.

Working poor have it much harder than the welfare class. Most Mexican immigrants live off food stamps, WIC, and live in government subsidized housing and have no objection whatsoever in taking what the government hands them, many people in Appalacia have probably caught onto welfare programs by now so live like kings and queens compared to the working classes.

Please read the article. Yes, they live off of welfare in a disproportionally high percentage compared to surrounding areas.

I have no problem with their choice to live, worship, and educate the way they wish. However, if they are not willing to swear off public assistance as do the Amish and a few other devout religious sects I will state that I do not respect their methods.

Then neither do I respect their methods. It sounds then like they are just another class of moochers living here off welfare handouts to support their lifestyles.

I don't have any problem with people living the way they want to. I don't have a problem with them choosing to be poor.

I do have a problem with them receiving food stamps and housing assistance. I am paying for this with my tax dollars, and I do not appreciate it.

They need to find a way to support their lifestyle without bleeding the governement for assistance, IMHO.

I'd go with American Samoa, or the Marshall Islands.

Yes, it's like the polygamists in Utah who use welfare and food stamps to support their "wives" and their many children. You get a guy feeling very studly by having 30 children with 4 wives that he cannot begin to support but expects the taxpayers to do that for him.

You breed 'em, you feed 'em. Large families are great - but if and only if you're willing to work hard and support your large family.

THE Jewish people do share the same challenges of the other working taxpaying class if they are working taxpayers -- but the welfare Jewish obviously have no economic challenges, every time they spit out a baby, they get more government goodies coming their way.

Like a broken clock, eventually a issue comes up where virtually everyone can agree.
