No. They have no idea. They've been exposed to big bloated government all their lives and think it is normal. They think a nanny state is their only choice.
Do you think that older voters know what the Ryan plan means for medicare?
The debt can be solved, through some targeted tax increases, ending tax loopholes and subsidies, and by cutting excess spending.
Neither party seems willing to do that. Republicans are on an idealistic rant against all government programs, and talking about lowering taxes. Democrats want to raise taxes, and seem unwilling to touch the retirement age and lowering military spending.
Our young voters are not stupid enough to fall for your faulty premise.
That is why no amount of corruption and lies can fool them.
Their vote is anti Republican./Tea Rags.
I see no reason it will ever change.
They are just not stupid enough to fall prey to right wing fascist propaganda.
They have video games better and more educational than anything that right wing hypocrisy could numb them to.
Young voters don't see themselves paying taxes any time soon, but when they do, they'll be loyal Republicans from then on.
The issue isn't who gets the youth vote today. The issue is how long can Democrats continue spending at current levels without taxing people who never paid taxes thereby making those voters lifelong Republicans.
Do you think America's young voters know what Obama's growing national debt means to them?
Most people are clueless regarding the debt or deficit and they often use the terms interchangeably.
I often hear people say the Debt was ended under Clinton, when they actually mean budget deficit and it actually is not true when counting SS trust funds.
The Democrat/Republican debt is something that few understand and even fewer understand that without it, we would not have a currency.

I agree. The vast majority of Americans, far more than just "young voters", have absolutely no clue how their own government functions, much less what the National Debt will mean to them throughout their working career.

Couldn't say it better myself Today's youth are well aware of the fascist attacks by the far right to destroy the middle class and liberty at all costs. Their pell grants cuts, other student aid trying to be destroyed, attacks on teachers,..The only people who support today's radical right are the uneducated fools and those easily misled.
They'll change their tune when they graduate and realize that a good chunk of their income is being taken away in order to support some bum who never even finished high school, let alone went to college, and spends his free time trading his SNAP benefits for heroin.
to be fair, this current debt is not all Obama's, Reagun, Bush I, and Bush II played a big part in that $14.3 trillion.

These are only the public debt portion of the debt, and do not include intragovernmental holdings, using fiscal year budget numbers:
Reagun owns $1.54 Triilion FY1982 through FY1989
Bush I owns $1.24 Triilion FY1990 through FY1993
Clinton owns $736 Billion FY1994 through FY2001
Bush II owns $4.89 Trillion FY2002 through FY2009
Obama owns $3.1 Trillion FY2010 through FY2011
