More Than Half Still Say U.S. Is in Recession or Depression

Quote:
PRINCETON, NJ -- More than half of Americans (55%) describe the U.S. economy as being in a recession or depression, even as the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) reports that "the economic recovery is proceeding at a moderate pace." Another 16% of Americans say the economy is "slowing down," and 27% believe it is growing.
Yeah, what do the uneducated masses know? They are the ones on the front line, losing jobs, homes and paying through the nose for gas.

Poll: Obama is losing public's confidence on economy | McClatchy

Quote:
Some 57 percent of registered voters said they disapproved of Obama's economic management, while only 40 percent approved. That's the lowest score of his presidency.

"These numbers spell political trouble," said Lee Miringoff, the director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion in New York, which conducted the survey.
If only the election were tomorrow, he would be gone.

Maybe the uneducated masses are right, considering these numbers.

Q1 GDP report: Economic growth slows - Apr. 28, 2011

Quote:
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Economic growth slowed to a crawl in the first three months of the year as a spike in gasoline, higher overall inflation and continued weakness in the housing market all took a toll on the recovery.

Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of the nation's economic health, rose at an annual rate of 1.8%, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. That's a significant slowdown from the 3.1% growth rate in the final quarter of 2010.
The so-called experts are constantly "unexpectedly" "surprised".

Obviously, the economy is taking it's toll on obama's approval rating.

42% Approve, 49% disapproval today.

If this truly is improving to some, i hate to shutter what it looks like when we hit rock bottom, would they even notice, or continue to make excuses.

I wonder if half of Americans could offer up a definition of "recession" or "depression."

He's the one that made the promise. I never bought into it, but I will be very vocal in reminding everyone about his lies.

Well, it's been over two years and he's done a bit more than wave a magic wand, hasn't he?

The massive stimulus that failed miserably, sinking us another trillion+ in debt.

His mortgage refinance program(s), failed miserably.

His obamacare, an utter disaster in and of itself, again spending TRILLIONS we don't have.

In fact, I can't think of even ONE of his policies that have succeeded or made a difference...can you?
